此曲选自 Within Temptation 于 2004 年发行的专辑《The Silent Force》。Within Temptation 是荷兰名气甚大的乐队，与 The Gathering 一起作为荷兰的当家乐队在今日的歌特金属中占据着重要的位置。
主唱 Sharon 是个不折不扣的美女，声音高飘纯美，虽然乐队绝大部分作品都是激进的金属，但是因 Sharon 绝对正宗的天音风格的声线，经常作为 Ethereal/Heavenly Voice 而被阴暗乐派乐迷熟悉，作品曾经入选《Heavenly Voices》第五集。
本曲《Memories》，恢弘悲壮的弦乐、钢琴、大提琴组成的强大音场中，Sharon 再次展示了她如一道银线隐入天际的傲人声线。旋律优美流畅，不逊于任何主流流行歌曲。如同歌名所言，这个回忆中的女子没有丝毫犹疑地将你带入曾经孤单地岁月，怅然回首却发现，时间原来淘去了所有那些不洁的东西，徒留这些美丽忧伤的支离破碎的镜像……
